Find Gasconade County Civil Dockets

Gasconade County civil dockets live with the circuit clerk, and that office is where any docket search should start. Bring a case number if you have one. A party name and a narrow filing period work too. Because civil court records cover many kinds of disputes, the case type and division tell you how to read each entry. The docket may show the full case history, though a sensitive filing stays limited and some copies require a clerk request.

Gasconade County Civil Docket Search Modes

Case.net gives you four ways in. You can hunt by litigant name, by filing date, by case number, or by scheduled hearings and trials. The official public search instructions walk through each of these paths. Results differ depending on the path you pick. Check any match against the Gasconade County case header before trusting it. That header tells you the filing county and division. That keeps a Gasconade County civil docket search honest.

Search pathUseful civil-docket task
Case Number SearchOpen the court record tied to a complete state case number.
Filing Date SearchReview cases filed in a defined time range without assuming their later outcome.
Litigant Name SearchLocate possible cases, then distinguish party role, county, and civil case type.
Scheduled Hearings & TrialsFind a listed civil event and compare it against later docket activity.

Gasconade County civil cases are heard in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit. That circuit also covers Franklin and Osage Counties. So when you run a docket search, confirm the filing county and division. Check them on the entry itself. A 20th Circuit result is not automatically a Gasconade County civil matter. Treating it as one can send you to the wrong clerk.

What a Civil Docket Shows

Missouri Court Operating Rule 4 governs what automated civil docket and index data contains. The case number comes first. A public Gasconade County civil docket also lists the case type and the county or city where the case was filed. Party and attorney fields appear too. So do filing dates, filing types, and judicial actions taken in the case. The companion civil judgment index lists judgment-oriented details, but read it carefully. It is not the full signed judgment. It will not tell you the current collection status.

Case headerIdentifying information such as the court, civil case type, case number, roles, and attorneys of record.
PleadingsPublic docket entries for a petition, answer, counterclaim, motion, or other filing, subject to security limits.
Service activityEntries showing a summons, return, or related court activity. A filing is not the same as completed service.
Settings and ordersScheduled events, case-management activity, orders, continuances, and rulings when publicly available.
Judgment informationJudgment, amount, satisfaction, vacatur, or appeal-related fields where the docket or index makes them available.

The COR 4 rules draw the lines among the docket, the judgment index, confidential material, and the official court record. Each one serves a different purpose. If you are unsure whether a document is public, or whether the clerk can certify a copy, ask the clerk directly.

Gasconade County Civil Judgment Index

An index hit in the Gasconade County civil judgment index works like a pointer. It tells you where the record lives. Under COR 4.13, the fields can list the party the judgment runs against, the case number, the judgment date, the court or entity that entered it, the amount, and whether a satisfaction or vacatur later occurred. Read it in context with the full case file. An index line is never the judgment itself. Need the signed document? Request it from the clerk-held case file, or ask about an eligible File Viewer document. A satisfaction field matters. But a public index result cannot trace every collection, payment, or enforcement step that follows. Ask for the actual entry or document, not a custom report the court does not keep.

Types of Civil Cases on the Docket

Civil dockets in Gasconade County span a wide range. They cover circuit civil matters, associate civil matters, small claims, domestic-relations cases, probate-related matters, and anything else Missouri law assigns. Start with the case type. That single filter helps most. The same party names or property references can surface in very different kinds of court records. The docket entries also track the procedure. A contract or property dispute tends to show pleadings and judgment activity. A family case may hold case-management and court-order entries, with protected attachments. And a municipal ordinance matter belongs to the municipal division; a payment requirement alone does not turn it into a civil lawsuit.

Gasconade County Civil Case Divisions

Gasconade County sits in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit. Circuit civil work covers general civil pleadings, money or property disputes, and injunctions. Other matters within circuit jurisdiction land there too. Smaller civil claims that the law allows go through the associate division. The header and case type on a Gasconade County civil docket show which track applies.

Division or case pathHow it differs
Circuit civilGeneral civil litigation and other matters within circuit jurisdiction.
Associate civilAuthorized smaller civil matters, including the county schedule's unlawful-detainer or rent-and-possession category.
Small claimsA separate small-claims petition category on the posted fee schedule, with mailing or sheriff costs beyond the listed filing amount.
Municipal divisionCity ordinance and minor traffic matters administered as a circuit-court municipal division.

Where a case is heard and who handles it come from the individual Gasconade County case, not from general assumptions. The courthouse address alone cannot tell you that every 20th Circuit civil case is heard in Hermann.

Settings and Hearings on Civil Dockets

For a listed setting, the official online route is the Scheduled Hearings & Trials Search on Case.net. It helps you find a date. Still, keep the Gasconade County civil docket beside it. A continuance, cancellation, reassignment, or later order can change what any scheduled entry means.

Expect wording drawn from a familiar set: case-management conference, settlement conference, motion hearing, bench trial, jury trial, status hearing, protection-order hearing, dissolution hearing, or probate hearing. The local docket's own phrasing controls. One caution. A hearing on the schedule proves neither that it happened. Nor does it prove the case was resolved.

Gasconade County Civil Service Status

A Gasconade County civil filing on the docket is not the same as formal service. A petition can show up before anyone is served. The entries that follow may deal with a summons, a return, a motion, a default, a judgment, or some other step. An open case can also sit with no future setting listed.

Check the summons and any court order for deadlines and instructions. The clerk can explain the public record. The clerk can also say whether a docket document is on hand. Need advice on responding, filing a claim, or meeting a deadline? A Missouri attorney can help. So can another authorized source of legal help.

Public Access to Civil Dockets

Missouri Court Operating Rule 4 sets the rules. It controls how a Gasconade County civil docket opens to the public. It is not a general open-records shortcut. Searching runs by party name, case number, or filing date. Confidential records impose their own limits. Even a public case can hold a filing-information sheet. Another attachment may also stay closed to most viewers.

The county officials page links to Missouri remote public-access guidance. The 20th Circuit is rolling out remote access in stages. Franklin, Gasconade, and Osage appear on that schedule. Remote access does not promise a PDF behind every public docket entry. For eligible statewide documents, the public-access equipment at the courthouse remains an alternative.

Gasconade County Family Docket Privacy

Dissolution, modification, paternity, custody, family-access, protection-order, and name-change cases all run through the same general search system as other civil matters. The privacy stakes differ, though. A public Gasconade County civil docket may show useful metadata while financial, medical, child, address, or abuse-related details stay redacted or restricted.

COR 4.07 makes Missouri's filing-information sheets confidential. Adoption, juvenile, and protected documents carry extra limits of their own. A public case heading grants no license to copy personal identifiers. Nor does it mean every attachment is open remotely.

Gasconade County Civil Filing Fees

The county's posted fee schedule carries the date April 18, 2023. Treat those figures as what the schedule said then, not as a promise of current billing. Before filing or requesting a service, ask the circuit clerk to confirm the current amount, the payment method, the filing-information-sheet requirement, the cost of service, and any local-rule surcharge.

Posted filing or copy item, 4/18/23Amount shown
Circuit civil petition; revival/scire facias; trial de novo; hardship or driving privilege; petition for title$100.50 each
Dissolution with or without children; modification; paternity; family-access motion with no pending action; name change$132.50 each
Adoption, one child$210.50
Additional-child deposit$30.00
Associate civil unlawful detainer or rent and possession$48.50
Small-claims petition$20.50, plus certified-mail or sheriff fees
Expungement$348.50
Notice of appeal$70.00
Mechanic's lien$5.00

Local-rule material shows a $15 law-library surcharge on qualifying civil circuit filings, with exceptions. Ask the clerk whether that charge is already inside the current invoice. Publication deposits go straight to the publisher under the posted county schedule.

Gasconade County Civil Land Records

Jenny Schneider also serves as ex officio recorder of deeds. That office and a Gasconade County civil docket are different systems, however. A deed, mortgage, lien, or land-index hit is a recorded land record. It is not, by itself, proof of a pending lawsuit. Nor is it proof of a court judgment.

For litigation, use Case.net. For recorded land documents, use the county's recorder resources. The fee schedule lists a mechanic's-lien line. That line does not convert a land-record search into a civil case search. Knowing the difference helps a requester ask the right office for the right record.

Gasconade County Civil Document Access

The File Viewer Help page explains the setup. A hyperlinked docket entry can signal an attached electronic document. That applies when the case is public and the document's security level allows viewing. The Docket Entries tab, the blue case bar, the Categories pane, and the ECASE marker each play a part. They help separate the case index from the electronic material actually available.

Missouri eFiling is a secure route for authorized filers. It is not a substitute for public inspection. A member of the public who needs an eligible record has another option. The clerk and the courthouse public-access channel serve that need instead.

When a public Gasconade County civil docket shows no usable remote document link, keep two things. Save the case number and the entry date. Then contact the clerk. The Gasconade County Circuit Clerk is Jenny Schneider, 119 E. First St., Suite 6, Hermann, MO 65041, (573) 486-2632, jenny.schneider@courts.mo.gov. Courthouse equipment opens eligible statewide public cases and documents to the public. The clerk can also say whether an ordinary copy or a certified copy fits the need.
